Chianti
The Chianti region can be visited driving thrugh the scenic Chiantigiana road, which connects Siena to Florence and is reachable in 30 minutes by car from Podere Vesta. Traveling it, you cross a myriad of hills dotted with small villages and beautiful farmhouses. Typical products of this area are Chianti wine of Etruscan origins, known worldwide, olive oil, wood-fired bread, and Cinta Senese pork. Numerous osterias and restaurants scattered between Castelnuovo Berardenga, Radda, Castellina, Gaiole, and Greve in Chianti offer traditional rural recipes: fettunta, panzanella, ribollita, pappa col pomodoro, and dishes based on local cheeses and Cinta Senese pork, a distinctive meat of the Siena province.
