The area of Chianti is crossed along its length by the panoramic Chiantigiana road, which joins Siena and Florence, and just 30 minutes’ drive from Podere Vesta. Travelling along the road you come across a myriad of hills dotted with small villages, churches and beautiful farmhouses. The typical products of this area are Chianti wine, Etruscan in origin and world famous, olive oil, wood baked bread and Cinta Senese salami. The many eateries and restaurants spread between Castelnuovo Berardenga, Radda, Castellina, Gaiole and Greve in Chianti offer typical, traditional rural recipes: fettunta (bruschetta), panzanella (bread and tomato salad), ribollita (Tuscan soup), pappa col pomodoro (bread and tomato soup) and dishes based on local cheeses and Cinta Senese salami, very typical of the Siena region.
